Our Story

Antigwa - Livy Nov 14-16

We left Granada and headed for Antigua. It was our first sop in Guatemala. We had to take 3 separate flights to get there! Unfortunately when we first got there we had no where to stay and no WiFi. We went to a cafe to get a drink and find a place to stay. We ended up staying at a nice hotel called Casa Mia. After putting all our stuff in the room,we walked into the main square. The park there was really beautiful. When we got back we went to the market across the street. It was really cool. There where girls lined up in the middle of the road as far as the eye can see.
The girls lined up at the market
By the time we got to the end of it was getting dark. We had to start heading home. We went to Dominoes pizza for dinner. We'll come back tomorrow. The next day we walked around town to see what was hear. We saw a pretty cool old church that had gotten destroyed by a earthquake
After that we went to a chocolate factory and we took a lesson. We got to make our own chocolate.

After that we went back to the market. We bought the Emoji movie and spent about 2 hours just walking around and looking in shops. Near the back, there is a parking lot were all the buses go because there is a lot of tourists around. The buses were all painted with cool designs on them. They were called chicken buses. We finally went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. We met a little Spanish girl who we played with.(Anneka mostly.) That night we watched the Emoji movie then went to bed. When we woke up we went to cache a shuttle to bring us to a Volcano. We were going to do a hike there.  It was a up hill hike so me and  Anneka got to take horses. It was 4.k. When we got to the top we saw the most beautiful view.

We started to head down but a different way. Me and Anneka had to walk. Booooooo! We took a path down the other side of the Volcano were all the dried up lava was. Our guide took us to a spot were smoke was still coming out. He gave us Marsh mellows and we roasted them! It was time time to go down and believe or not it took longer to get down then up. Easier mind you but longer. That was our last day in Antigua. I'm going to miss it.
