Our Story

Livy-The Rest of Mexico!

Christmas morning was a bit different then all the other years. We had a tiny tree that we decorated with colored paper. We got lots of little presents. I got new earrings, running shoes, a water bottle and PJ'S. I loved all of them.

We went to pick up my brother Jesse. We got him in the first five minutes and we didn't have to wait 3 hours. The first thing we did with him was got to shelha.  It is a Adventure Park with water slides, snorkeling, and jumping cliffs. Me, my mom and Anneka went on the big water slide while my dad and Jess stayed at the bar. It said it was only a 30 minute wait, but it turned out to be 1 hour and a half!!! And it was't even that fun! It was really slow! Anyways, we went down a big river in tubes that have spots were you jump out to do activity's. It was really fun. We  also did a catamaran tour which is fancy for boat tour. They were blaring loud music witch was OK because it was good music. We went snorkeling for a bit. And then went to Isla De mujerise. We decided just to go down to the beach for an hour befor we headed back.

Sadly Jesse had to leave.

The 5 days he was here went by really fast.

When Jesse left we had about 2 weeks before we left. We went to a rescue center that was awesome!!! We held a crocodile,

 We pet deer,

And held parrots,

Parrot time!

We saw a giant snake, giant crocodile and an ocelot.

Tiny ocelot, he is 9 years but looks like a baby

We went to a beach to go snorkeling. It was known for its sea turtles and we saw 2. They looked like the wood ones we kept seeing in the store. They were beautiful.

After the beach we went to Yal-Kul. It is another snorkeling place in fresh water. It is Amazing!!!There are so many fish there and underwater caves that you can swim through.

We went to the Mayan ruins Tulum. They were not like Tikal at all. There were barley any temples. It was only town. It was really beautiful. But not as impressive.

I did not like Tikal that much( OK let's face it, I did not like them at all)because most of the tour was at the temples and we only spent 5 minutes in the main plaza. Tulum we spent the whole time in the main plaza. We went to the town beach for a couple of hours. We had a delicious lunch and went for a walk.

Before we left we wanted to make a road trip to a small town called Bacalare. We heard about it from all the backpackers we have met along the way. Most of them told us to go there. When we first got there I did't really like it. We were staying at a really nice hotel that reminded me of the hotel we stayed at in Puerto Viejo. First thing we did was go for lunch. We found a nice restaurant rite at the waters edge and after we ate, we went for a swim. We went to a park with water slides but they were closed we just played in the water, jumping off the diving boards. The next day we went on a tour of the 5 cenotes.  We only went to 3. The first one we went to was really warm and super deep. I think it was 100 feet deep. Me, Anneka and my dad jumped off a tree branch. It was really fun. The second one we went to we could not swim in. It was protected. We went to one that was really shallow in some parts but shoulder deep in others. We played Frisbee and jumped off a small wall. Our feet hurt after because they hit the ground so hard.

That afternoon we went back to the park and the slides were open. They were actually really fun. Me and Anneka went on so many times.

We headed home to Playa Car for 2 more days. The last day we were there we went to a new cenote which was awesome. We spent the whole day there. That night we went to the taco trucks for a final Mexican meal. We got a crunchy crepe, which sounds gross but is awesome. Tomorrow we are going to Cancun to sleep for the night, and then wake up at 4:00 in the mourning.
Next stop, HAWAII
