If you have read my Chang Mai post, I know it ended weirdly. That was only the second day! I had finished it, then it got deleted! You can read about everything on my moms post. Sorry guys!
We sadly left Chang Mai and headed to Cambodia. Our first stop there would be Angorwat. The whole reason you go there is because there is a giant temple there. It is one of the 7 wonders of the world. The town there is really gross. It is tiny and there is garbage everywhere. We were only staying 3 days, so it was fine. Our hotel was nice, a 5 minute walk to the main area. We went to lunch down one of the balk ally's. It was OK. Me and Anneka got spaghetti. We kind of just hung out at the pool for the rest of the day. The next morning, we got up really early to go to the Temple. There is the main big one, and then a lot of smaller ones scattered near by. We went to the big one first and got a guide. It was crazy big. I am not a big fan of temples, but even I can admit that this was cool.

Us walking rite to it |

The reflection pool |
It was massive inside. It went so far back. We were in there for at least 1 hour and a half. There were carvings on the walls throughout the entire thing. It was crazy to think that thousands of years ago, people carved the walls with there hands! Our guide was telling us that they used to tell stories on the walls. It was really cool the way everything was were it was for a reason.

Behind me and Anneka are two goddesses |
We took a small tuk-tuk to a place with a bunch of restaurants. We ate lunch then went to a couple more smaller temples.
We then took a tuk-tuk back to the hotel and immediately all jumped in the pool. That night we went down to the backpacker street. It is were all the bars and restaurants are. We at a nice place and me and Anneka got a chocolate milkshake for desert. It was so good!!!

As you can see, everything was lit up |
After dinner, my dad and Anneka each got a cooked scorpion to eat! Me and Mum did not touch it. Anneka said it was good but chewy. Gross!!!

Anneka about to pick her bug out! |
The next day my mom was not feeling well, so me, my dad and Anneka went out for the day. We went to a landmine museum. Landmines are bombs in the ground and when you step on them, they explode. Awful, I know. The man who owns the museum was in the war when he was 12!!!! And was forced to plant them. Sadly, there are still some landmines planted around Cambodia. Now the man devotes his life to demining the landmines. You can go to the museum and see the different types of bombs.
|
This was full with at least 30 types of landmines and it was't even a quarter of the museum |
That night we went to a dinner show. It was a buffet (I got stuffed!) and dance. It was a traditional dance, about 1 hour. It was pretty cool, but we left near the ending. It got a little bit boring.
That was pretty much it for Angorwat. Next stop in Cambodia, KOH RONG!!!
