Surf and Sandcastles: Gilly Islands-Livy

The Gili's are 3 different islands off of Lombok. We were staying at the one called Gili T. It was really beautiful. It is a tiny little island, literally you could bike around it in 60 minutes. There are no motorized vehicles on the island, so we had to walk about 10 minutes with our luggage. And believe me, we have a lot of luggage. Anyway, our place was really nice. After we were settled in, we went down to the main road. It was awesome. The beach wasn't as beautiful as the ones in Lombok, but it was nice.

It was very nice to be able to walk down the streets without cars whipping by you all the time. There was a lot of horse carriages there, though. We went for a delicious dinner at a place called Warung. I got fried noodles which were some of the best noodles I have ever had. They were so good!!! We went back to our place and swam in the pool for the rest of the night. The next morning, we went down to see if my dad could get his dive license. It would take him three days, so Anneka my mom and I were going to have a couple girls day! We went for lunch at this place that had a amazing pool. It was a resort and if you ate at there restaurant, you could use there pool for the whole day. Me and Anneka had a pizza witch was kinda disgusting. After lunch we went down to the town beach. We went snorkeling to see if we could find anything. It was only like 2 feet deep, but we saw 2 sea turtles!!! They were like right there! By the time my dad got his camera they were gone! Sad, I know. Anyway we just hung out there until dinner. We went back to warung to eat. After that we went back to our hotel. The next day, my dad went to get his dive license. My mom and Anneka went shopping but I did not really want to. They bought me a smoothie and left me on the beach with my book. It was awesome!!! I was there for about an hour. When they came back we went to the restaurant with the amazing pool. Me and Anneka got milkshake to share and swam in the pool.We went to warung for lunch and I got the noodles again. The next day my mom, Anneka and me went on a snorkeling tour. We first went to a place that was open water. My sister wanted to go on the boat so my mom brought her. They could not see me and my mom thought that I had drowned. It was quite funny after they realized I was just up ahead.

The second place we went to, we saw a sea turtle. It was really deep water though, the one we saw at Gili T was much cooler. There was supposed to be a big fish there, but we did not see one. We went for lunch after that. It was OK.

We headed home after that. We met up with my dad and went to the beach. We went to try a new place for dinner and we went to a place called the Japan's garden. The food was not as good as warungs. The day after that was my dad's last day scuba diving. Us girls rented bikes and went to the west side of the island. We were staying on the north side. It is were all the resorts are. We ate at a restaurant with a pool. The food was really good. I got a vanilla milk shake, and Anneka got a banana. Anneka and my mom went to get there toes done while I stayed at the place and read my book. It was not as nice as lying on the beach, but it was still amazing. When they got back we rode our bikes home. We walked down to the main road, and went to see if my dad had come back from his dive lessons. They said he'd be back in about half a hour. We waited at the beach until he came back.We went to warung for dinner. The next day, we went to the amazing pool restaurant. We biked over to the other side of the island. We were lucky and caught the sunset. It was beautiful. We sat at a restaurant on the beach with smoothies and watched it.
