We left Monterrico and headed to Lake Atitlan. We had to take a shuttle through Antigua (again) because it was the fastest way there. You had to take a ferry to get to the place we were going,so we decided to stay one night in the main town called Pana. We had heard that it was not a nice place to stay, but when we got there we really liked it. We were staying in a basic but nice hotel so that night we all had a sleep.

We went to the ferry dock to take a boat to San Pedro.

When we got there,we saw the town and we were all like"I am going to like it here." We got to our hotel called El Delphine and it was nice but kinda boring. Just a place to sleep. We walked to the main square and had some lunch at a little cafe. We ate on the second floor and had a beautiful view of the lake.

Tuk-Tuk to the Hotel,Very tight squeeze |
We took a tuk-tuk ride for a tour of the city and he took us to a view point and the main church.

We then took a boat to a near by town called San Marcos. They had a nice Nature Reserve with a jumping platform. The water was freezing so we only jumped once.

We took a boat back to San Pedro. We went back to the cafe with the great view of the lake for lunch. The next day we took a tuk-tuk to the town next to us called San Juan. It is known for it's weavers and craftsmen. There were women offering a free demonstration on how to weave things from raw cotton. We bought a awesome purse for me and 2 ponchos for my mom and Anneka.
San Marcos was awesome! I would love to come back one day.
