We were exited to get to Coh Lanta for one reason. Me and Anneka are going to school there!!! As I said in my last post, there is a international school here that is English. It accepts travelling students who want to come for short periods of times. We were going for a week. The first day we went to the school to meet the principal, and sign in. We were so exited, and had so many butterflies in our stomachs. Me and Anneka were happy to find out that we were going to were uniforms. We have always wanted to and now we get the chance! They are very simple, but nice and comfortable.

The place we were staying at was really nice. Very modern, and had a nice pool. Well actually 2 pools. After we settled in we went straight to lunch. We found a place just up the road from us and ate there. I got the glass noodle soup. It is officially one of my favorite meals. Every time I get it I love it. Any way, sadly we got there three days before school so we had to wait.

Us at lunch |
Any way, sadly we got there three days before school so we had to wait.It was so hard!!! After lunch we went to the animal welfare center. They rescue the dogs on the island, and have a cat cafe. They have a dog walking program were you can walk the dogs. We went in to see if we could do it. They were doing a tour were you could see all the dogs. There were so many!!! All of them were so cute! They had a pen with a new litter of puppies. They were all about three months. The cutest age. I wanted to adopt them so bad!!! we could not walk them, so we were going to do it next week. After the tour we went into a cage with two puppies in it. One was super playful, and the other was very relaxed and liked being pet. It was the best 10 minutes of my life!!! We wen to the cat cafe and played with some kittens. After that we went back to the apartment. It was already time for dinner and we went to a really, really, really cheap place with the nicest lady working there. I got the glass noodle soup which burned my throat, but was delicious. The next day we did a snorkeling tour. It brought us to three islands. The first island was called Emerald cave. We swam through deep water were you could not touch, for about 100 meters. Anneka had a life jacket but I did not ( I deeply regretted not having it). Once we got through, We came to this lake inside the island! It was so cool! The walls around it was stone and covered in vines and tropical flowers. I wish the photos could have captured the real thing.
The last stop was a snorkeling stop. It was not the best stop we have been to, but it was not ugly. Unfortunately, my dad forgot his camera so we do not have any pictures. After snorkeling we went back. It was a long boat ride back, and for the rest of the day we hung out at the beach. We went out for dinner at a fancy restaurant, that was a little out of our budget but we ate there anyway. We all got north American food which was nice. The following day, we rented motorbikes and toured the island. We went to nui beach. It was really beautiful!

We ate at the restaurant that had a amazing view of nui. The food was good, I got the noodle soup (Again) which was good. The second beach called Bakantiang beach. It was nicer then the first one, but kinda boring. There was no waves, no volleyball net. It was just a beach. Nui beach had rocks and waves, so it was fun to swim in.

On the way back, we stopped at this place were they had Elephants in a pen. you could by a basket of pineapple and feed them. it was the first time me and Anneka had seen a Elephant before. They were HUGE!!!!! It was mental! There was a mom and a baby. Even the baby was bigger then me! It was crazy.

When we got home I could not sleep, we had school the next day and Me and Anneka were nervous and Exited. We got up really early the next morning and could not go back to sleep. We rode the bikes to school and I went inside with my classmates. Most of them were from Thailand but one was from Switzerland, her name was Angla, and another was from Slovakia, her name was Dorota. My other classmates were Andy, Lalita, Jay -Jay Luis and Allie. They were all really nice. My teacher was Becky. She was from England. I loved school so much and did not want to leave. That night we wen to a restaurant that had so many ice cream choices. We were allowed to get whatever we wanted! I got a sundae and Anneka got a Banana split. It was so good! For my post, the week did not have a lot going on. School went by so fast! It is amazing how fast I felt at home. I loved my classmates, they were so nice. We loved it so much we actually stayed another week. That weekend, we went to the neighboring island called Phi - Phi (Pronounced Pee - Pee)It was so amazing! The town beach was beautiful! We stayed at the town beach for a while and then took a Taxi boat to monkey beach. Just a beach around the bend.

We spent the day on the beach and walking around town. All of us loved Phi - Phi and wished we would have known so we could have stayed there. The next day we rented bikes again and went down to our favorite beach. Nui beach. We spent half the day there and then went into the national park. The beaches there were nice, but I preferred Nui. We went to school the rest of the week and on Saturday, we left. My class made me a really nice card and we left. Annekas friends came for a play date and that was it for friends.

ReplyDeleteLivy! I loved this post - it was cool to hear about all the food items you are checking out - take more food pics for me :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kinds of things did you learn in school while you were there? Your teacher there had the BEST name :) Did you have any homework? My class (Grade 8s) want to know what is different about school there compared to your school here in Toronto.
