Puert Viejo- Livy Oct 21st

What was pretty cool about the crossing the border between Panama and Costa Rica was that instead of driving you had to walk across a bridge.

We arrived at our hotel The Blue Conga and we were staying for a week. It was a small hotel but really nice (if you are ever going to Costa Rica I recommend you stay here). My birthday was happening here and I was pretty excited. The second day we were there we met up with another travelling family who had 3 kids (2 boys my age and 1 girl Anneka's age) Hi guys! When we first met we were all kind og shy but I think all of us were excited to finally have some friends. By the end of the night we were having so much fun and I felt really comfortable around them like they were old friends. For the rest of the week we pretty much hung out with them which was good because we got along so well. They even came out for my birthday dinner.

My birthday started off with our morning tradition of happy birthday in bed with a piece of cake. My parents gave me a present...it was a gift certificate to my first spa (which I have wanted forever). In the morning we left at 9 for a surprise which I found out was horseback riding.

Horseback riding was really fun as you can see we went on the beach, my horse was really sweet his name was Soga (lasso in Spanish) and he listened to me. It was a great birthday activity.

The spa amazing, best hour of my life (and it was not even spent with my family). 

That night we went for dinner at an Italian restaurant because I love pizza. Our friends came and made me presents it was very thoughtful and will be easy to travel with. 

The rest of the week went by pretty quickly, Anneka met a new friend Esme from England. we went on a chocolate tour to see how chocolate is made right from the cacao tree to a chocolate bar. 

We went to a jaguar rescue centre, which is a center where they rescue and release wild animals after they have been injured. There were baby animals everywhere it was so cute!!!

Puerto Viejo even beet Bocas. We did so much, the place we stayed at was amazing, we had friends and it was awesome. I forgot to mention 1 thing...while we were at an awesome beach called Playa Uva, me and my dad went snorkeling and I made the mistake of touching a unknown sea creature I later found out it was called a bearded firework and stung me and it hurt like crazy I had to stick my hand in a tomato to feel relief, I felt like dummy with a tomato on my finger. My mom added a horrible picture of me even though |I asked her not to ( I have the tomato on my finger)

anyway I LOVED Puerto Viejo!
