Our Story

Sydney Australia and the Coast-Livy

Sadly we only had 2 days in Kuala Lumpur. We were all very exited to leave though. Only because we were heading to Australia. We had friends who did the same trip as us, but stopped in Australia and have been living there for 4 years now. There dad, Nick, is from there so they stopped to spend time with his side of the family. They have 2 kids, Sadie(my age),and Jack (13). There mom is Kathy, and as I said before, there dads name is Nick. We were staying there for 4 days. When we first got there, me and Sadie were friend's rite away. We went swimming in the pool with Jack. They had a giant  floating mat that was in the pool.
All of us( minus Kathy and Nick)
We played on that until Kathy and Nick came back from work. When they got back, ( my mom and Kathy got teary eyed) we went to Bondi beach. It is one of the most famous beaches in the world. It was a beautiful beach. That was about all we did that day.
The next day we went in there boat to tour around on the water. We got to see a beautiful view of the Sydney Oprah house.

A cool photo my dad edited, just a bit

We stopped the boat near a beach and we all jumped off and swam to shore. We stayed at that beach for a bit and then went to a different one to meet up with friends of theirs. They had 3 kids. One was 11, and the other 2 were twins, they were 9. The 11 year old was Max and the other 2 were Carla and Juliette. We played on the floating mat and then went to small cliffs. Only the kids went, so we don't have any good pictures.
The beach were we met the twins.
That night, we went to get ice cream. I got caramel and lemon. I know it sounds kinda disgusting,  but they actually went really well together. I got nutella on mine but Anneka didn't even know about it.

The third day  we took the ferry downtown again. This time Kathy and Nick took us to this place called the rocks. There was a small market there and me Sadie and Anneka all bought friendship bracelets. They are made with Kangaroo leather, and have a snowflake bead on them. Mixing Canada and Australia.

The next day we took the ferry downtown. We walked to the Oprah house but sadly could not go inside. It was still so cool. The shape of it is very impressive, but looks much better from the side. The front of it just looks like a bunch of buildings. But the side, that looks incredible.

We took the ferry to a beautiful bay that had a small beach. Me and Sadie spent most of the time that we were there in the water. After about an hour me and my dad went to some cliffs and of course, jumped off. It was really fun. When we got back, we went to the field behind there house. We played in the small playground until dinner and then watched the Lego batman movie. The next morning, we started to pack up to leave. Me and Sadie made an I movie,( a small picture movie, about 1 minute long) But did not get to finish. Goodbyes were tough, but we made it. We are going to rent a camper van for our next trip. Driving down the coast of Australia for 6 days!!!

Driving Up the Coast of Austrailia

I cannot believe we only had 4 days in Sydney. It was not enough! We we left with sad hearts and went to pick up our camper van. We were going to be driving down the coast for 6 days. Our camper was TINY!!! There was a bed that pulled out at the top, and the seats formed a bed. The Top bed was for me and Anneka, and my parents slept at the bottom. On the way to the place we were staying at, Lack Macquarie, we pulled over to see our first wild Kangaroos!!! They were so soft! Their were so many baby's there, and a lot of them were in there moms pouch.

We left after about an hour and headed to our campground. We were meeting up with some friends from Puerto Viejo, Vincent and Mathias. If you do not remember them just read my post on Puerto Viejo. When we got to our campground we set up then went to meet up with them. All the kids went to the pool and the jumping pillow. I was so exited to see them. It feels like its been so much longer then 3 months since we saw them. We were only here one night then our family went to my dads old friends house for one night. They were doing a teachers exchange and living there for one year. They had 2 daughters, Lannie and Katie.  Lannie was my age and Katie was 13. We made a bunch of funny Imovies. I had a lot of fun there. Me and Anneka slept in there Katie's room. We stayed up talking until 10. The next morning we had toast and Nuttela for breakfast. We had to leave, even though none of us wanted to. The next campground was with Vincent and Mathias. It had a small playground and a beach. Our site was way in the back in the dead sun! It was so HOT at night!!! We spent most of our time at there place which was a cabin rite next to the beach. It was really nice. We went on a boat tour to see dolphins. And we did. There was a very small slide that was sticky, so I only went on it once. Anneka enjoyed though.

On the way back Me, My mom, Anneka, Vincent and Matthias did on of those water obstacle courses. We were out there for an Hour and it was the best hour of my life. It was so fun.
The water obstacle  park

Some of it was really hard though. Everyone on it fell in at least 10 times. It was really slippery because of all the wet people on it. But that's what made it fun. (my mom wiped out here and hurt her knee pretty bad).
Our next stop was Byron bay. We went surfing here and in the beginning, I wasn't catching any waves. Then our coach Raff Took me and Vincent out for another lesson to try and get our bodies to memorize  the movement  of getting up. After that I was catching almost every wave! It was really fun.

The last night we were with them we went out for dinner. We got delicious fizzy pink lemonade. It was so good. I got a Hamburger for dinner. It was one of the most awesome burgers ever!!! On the way back we stopped to watch this one man band guy. He was amazing! He was playing the guitar, drums, harmonica and singing! ( not singing at the same time as playing the harmonica). It was crazy! The next mourning we did our last activity with them. We went on a long hick all up hill to a lighthouse. It was very beautiful though. I have to admit.

My mom did not come because of her knee. When we got to the top all of us got ice cream. Me and Anneka got Mars Bars flavor. It was so good!!!

That was the last thing we did with them. We met up with them and said our goodbyes. My mom met us before we left.
All of us (my dads taking the picture)

When we left, we stopped to meet up with the twins that we had met in Sydney. Carla and Juliette. There campground had a big pool and a playground. We ate lunch there and had a popcicale after.

Me, Anneka, Carla, Juliette, and Max

That was the last thing we did in the camper van. We were staying at a motel for one night and the day after that we were going to take a 6 hour flight. 6  hours for us is nothing. It will be a piece of cake.
Next stop, BALI!!!
